This morning we were served a delicious breakfast of farm fresh eggs, pancakes, ham, and homemade bread by the owners of the Black Range Lodge. It was a welcome change from the typical hotel complementary breakfasts we've been having.
As a result of the awesome breakfast we didn't get on the road until 9:00AM. The start was a thrilling, scenic, and chilly descent. The terrain added a climb to warm us up a bit, then resumed the descent to cool us back down. We had visions of getting to Las Cruces by 2:00. Then the headwind started. We arrived at the hotel at 5:00 😩. It was a long day.
We rode through countless pepper fields 🌶 that appeared to be just planted, and we passed miles and miles of Pecan orchards.
After dinner, I connected with a very dear friend who lives in Las Cruces. We used to work together at DCH. It was great seeing Cheryl Tom Nelson!
On to El Paso tomorrow. We lose another hour!

At a SAG stop. My friend, Cathy, was there taking pictures.
