Day 34: Bunkie to St Francisville (82 miles) April 18

Today‘s ride started out chilly, in the 50s. Several riders already shipped their cold weather gear home. One thing that has been unpredictable has been the weather. The first thing I do after breakfast is walk outside. I can at least decide what to wear until the first SAG stop. Today was overcast and windy. I didn’t peel layers off until after 2:00.

We are east of the Mississippi River now. We rode over the John James Audubon Bridge which crosses over the Mississippi River. It was completed and opened in 2011, so it’s fairly new. It sits just south of St Francisville.

We are staying at the St Francisville Inn (Aka The Saint) It is a newly renovated Inn, beautiful gardens with fine dining and each room has its own balcony with comfortable seating. I’ll take and post some pictures tomorrow. Our cycling group reserved the entire Inn, so we are the only guests staying here.

Tomorrow is a rest day! The St Francisville Inn is so nice, a few of us decided we just want to chill here!
